Durham Success Summit (DSS) was developed outside of the existing public school, workforce development, and criminal justice systems as an innovative and comprehensive approach to reengaging Black male "opportunity youth" for whom those systems had failed. Black men in Durham were engaged in the process of defining what they needed and continue to guide the creation of our programs and initiatives.

 DSS is investing in a more stable economic foundation for Black boys and young men in our city at a critical period of their lives where they are forming their visions of the future and expectations of society. We seek a balanced pool of candidates and have no prerequisites or special requirements.
